IBSWLG Chairman, Akande Launches Scholarship Program for Indigent Students 

In a move to support education and empower the youth, Honourable Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, is set to institutionalize a scholarship program for indigent students in his local government area.
The scholarship program is expected to benefit students from low-income families, providing them with access to quality education and opportunities for growth. This initiative aligns with Honourable Akande's vision for community development and his efforts to address the pressing issues faced by Ibadan South West Local Government.

This visionary initiative seeks to bridge the educational gap and empower disadvantaged students, providing them with equal opportunities for academic excellence.

Program Objectives:
1. Provide financial assistance to deserving students from low-income families.
2. Promote academic excellence and educational attainment.
3. Foster socio-economic development in Ibadan South West Local Government.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Residency: Applicants must be bona fide residents of Ibadan South West Local Government.
2. Academic Performance: Students must demonstrate excellent academic records.
3. Economic Need: Priority will be given to indigent students.

Qualifying Examination will take place on 9th October at council secretariat by 10am.

In his reaction, Honourable Kehinde Akande noted that "Education is the bedrock of development. As a responsible leader, it's our duty to ensure every child, regardless of socio-economic background, has access to quality education. This scholarship program will empower our young mind, unlocking their potential for greatness."

Meanwhile, residents of Ibadan South West Local Government have hailed Chairman Akande's initiative, describing it as a "game-changer" for education in the area.

This scholarship program will alleviate financial burdens on many families, allowing their children to focus on studies," said Mrs. Funke Ogunremi, a local resident.
