In the landscape of Nigerian politics, where the lines of partisanship often overshadow genuine service, Honorable Waheed Akintayo, popularly known as Ilumoka Presenter, stands as a beacon of hope and progress. Representing Oluyole Local Government in the 10th Assembly of Oyo State, Hon. Akintayo has made a remarkable start by implementing a free health insurance scheme for his constituency. This initiative is not just a testament to his dedication but also a profound reflection of what democracy should embody service to the people.
I am privileged to be among the beneficiaries of this commendable scheme, and I feel compelled to share my experience and express my gratitude to Hon. Akintayo for his tireless efforts. It was a Friday morning when I woke up feeling unusually weak and unwell. After discussing my symptoms with my wife, we decided it was best to seek medical attention. Fortunately, I remembered that I had an Oyo State Health Insurance Scheme (OYSIA) identity card with me, with Adaramagbo Primary Health Center (PHC) listed as the hospital.

Upon arriving at Adaramagbo PHC, I was greeted with warmth and efficiency. The reception staff swiftly issued me a hospital card without any delay, and I was soon able to consult with a doctor. The doctor, after listening attentively to my complaints, recommended several tests, all of which were conducted promptly within the same facility.

The seamless process and the high standard of care I received were impressive. After the tests, the doctor diagnosed my condition and provided me with a comprehensive prescription. What struck me most was that all these services, the consultation, tests, and medication were completely free of charge. It was at that moment I fully grasped the significance of Hon. Akintayo's initiative.

Honorable Waheed Akintayo's free health insurance scheme is more than just a policy; it is a lifeline for many residents of Oluyole Local Government. By providing accessible and free healthcare, he is not only alleviating the financial burden on his constituents but also fostering a healthier and more productive community.

I commend Hon. Akintayo for this visionary initiative. His actions demonstrate a genuine commitment to the well-being of his people, transcending the often divisive nature of partisan politics. As a direct beneficiary, I can attest to the positive impact of his work. It is my fervent prayer that he continues on this noble path, maintaining and even expanding such vital programs.
